the Poetic Graphics: a parting song

 HELLO!

A year ago I was observing with the highest interest how birds (mostly swallows) are gathering on the power lines before their departure to the warm countries. The result of that observation was a poem pożegnalna pieśń which I published on my other blog (HERE You can read a poem if You want).

So, maybe You are wondering why am I writing this? The reason is simple. 

I decided to translate this poem, then create a graphic background for it, thus making it a part of "the Poetic Graphics" series.

Below there is the net result of my work.

imagination's swirling exuberance

 HELLO!

So, here comes the new work from the series Wild Fantasy which was developing for a quite long amount of time. I'm not even sure how long this post will be, it definitely will be pretty long (I hope you won't feel bored during reading this).

Before I get stuck in showing the creative process of today's work let me remind You what is Wild Fantasy. This series consists of the black-and-white pictures with colourful accent which were made with pens. All of them happened because of ideas recorded on paper as doodles - ideas showing ladies in outfits with colourful accent with animals, and sometimes with flowers (it depends from the background I chose for the picture - sometimes it's the environment, sometimes it's architecture). So far I've created images with colours like green, blue, red, and violet. Actually, back in 2023 I intended to make a picture with the yellow accent. Due to the certain circumstances, I've reached a conclusion that it would be better to realise a picture with violet accent first, and save the yellow one for later.

So now, let's start the long story about the Wild Fantasy with yellow accent.

This doodle was the starting point. Here you see long-haired lady with white top, and a full-length skirt with spiral ornament. This skirt was supposed to be yellow. As for spiral ornament - it's supposed to be Klimt's reference. I imagined this particular figure surrounded by an environment in the style of Art Nouveau.

In this post I would like to present another graphic which developed from an old photography.

Photo shows an interesting architectural detail which is visible on the facade of St. Martin's Collegiate Church in Opatów.

I took this photo in 2014.

Back then I focused on this little creature which seems to run somewhere. It resembles a little bit a boar (but it's just my opinion, if you've got any idea what kind of creature is it, please, share with your thoughts).

Be that as it may, I saw a potential in this photo to create a graphic.

Do not be afraid to look behind the certain curtain

Long time ago I draw a lady in kimono and left this drawing unfinished. I don't remember what was my purpose for drawing her.

I thought that using this sketch as a basis for a graphic would be a brilliant idea. 

And it turned out to be a brilliant idea.

Lady from medieval times

 Hello!

Lately I was thinking that it would be so nice to draw a lady... But at the beginning I have no idea for this drawing. So I searched through my old notebooks because some of interesting ideas are usually there. Finally I found this particular doodle:

Well, as I can recall this doodle was made in 2019. I don't know why did I draw this lady in beautiful, long gown... And what did inspire me to draw her (it must have been something medieval)?

 Hello!

     Yesterday I was searching for an inspiration for backgrounds for the future "the Poetic Graphics". Among all of those old photographies I've found the one from over four years which you could contemplate below.

I've made this photo in November 2016 during a walk.

     Those trees and their branches looked marvellous. Thanks to them a photography resembles a painting with craquelures. 

        It looks so fascinating that I started experimenting with photo in graphic software. To be honest I was a bit surprised by the final effect.

Summary of 2020

 HELLO!

It's time for the second summary on this blog. During writing the first one I thought I should take a fresh look on certain matters and remind myself of them. It emerged that it was necessary to understand this year was full of experimenting and searching.

So, let's start!

• This year I published 23 posts and - so far - it's a record! Yay!
• In the end of October I published the 100th post! This little jubilee is also noteworthy.
• I changed a few things in order to improve blog's functioning. For example I shifted a bit blog's visual design. Plus, I've made a division on the right sidebar - I've separated Finished Aims from My Cycles... And I think it was a good move.

Relax with a Violet Crayon

 Hello! 

     In today's post you'll see a spontaneous drawing. From time to time I like to make some doodles because it's relaxing. To be honest I do not know if I've got a notebook which wasn't ornamented with drawings of various ladies, animals (mainly cats), flowers, ornaments, etc. Some of them happened to inspire me to create something bigger (as examples I can point at a pastel the Expectation of Shooting stars or drawing Wisp of Galadriel's hair). Yup, before them were little sketches made on margins or notebooks' covers ❤

     And yesterday I was trying to relax after baking gingerbread cookies. And during my efforts I took a paper, violet crayon and started drawing this lady.

      I haven't got any special plans for this drawing... I felt pretty concerned during drawing. At some point I've decided to add a pink colour.

     As a title I chose reaching for... because the Violet Lady is reaching for something... What is it exactly? A dream? A guitar? A pencil? A pen? An amazing book? Another human's hand? A cookie cutter? Well, I don't know - let this be a kind of a wiggle room.

hanami in purple vibes

Hello!

Today I want to show another graphic which was based on my previous work Sutekina tsuitachi o. If you aren't aware yet this japanese phrase means "Have a Nice Day!"

This graphic was born from a pure experimentation. I used a fragment of a photography in which I captured the early version of Sutekina tsuitachi o. At first a usage of purple colour wasn't intended but as the experiment goes I liked this effect much more!

Wakana once again

Two years earlier I create a portrait of Wakana. Wakana Ōtaki was a member of japanese groups Kalafina and FictionJunction. Unfortunately Kalafina disbanded in 2018. Currently Wakana gets her solo career moving.

the Coming of Spring doesn't make everyone happy..., pen on paper, 14,8 x 17,4 cm.

     My latest drawing is showing a melting snowman during sunny weather. This happens after winter so you could also see Galanthus nivalis (quite simplified) on the left side of a picture. The title of drawing hasn't been chosen accidentally.

    A year ago, at the beginning of Spring, I made a spontaneous doodle which was showing this specific theme. And during drawing I felt somehow... sad. I can't quite explain why I suddenly felt as sad as this snowman... Was it a reflection about a passing and inevitability? Or was it just a desire to express own feelings by a melting snowman?

    Maybe you'll be the one who find an amazing interpretation of this riddle ☺️

the Other World in blueness

Hello!

It has been a long time since I published there a computer graphic. Now's the time to left there something new. I mean a little cycle of graphics. All of them are based on drawing the Other World. Simply it's a continuation of mentioned work. Through experiments I wanted to see my drawing in a different ways... 

Today I'll show only one of them. I hope you won't feel so blue after gazing at mysterious reader.

Wintertime

Wintertime, crayons on paper, 23-24.12.2016

Hello!

Well, you probably saw Winter finally, so you would noticed that I've changed my mind... but only about hairstyle. Thanks to this change icicles are more visible. I'm not a fan of "the Game of Thrones" so you won't see a title like "Winter is coming" [although I like Sean Bean]. :-D 

On the left side of my drawing, you'll see two shepherds. A Star is their road-sign to Bethlehem where the King was born.

A Winter's bag have got an inscription: MISSION: CHRISTMAS EVE 2016.

Meet Miss Winter. This blue-eyed, adorable girl has long, straight, blonde hair... but... ends of her hair are resulted by ice. This thing sometimes makes her annoyed.

What I've done with one sketch...

Someday, I drew an idea which I liked very much. It presented an elegant girl, smiling during the rain.

version no. 1

At the beginning of July- I wanted to draw this one more time - on a bigger sheet of paper. So, I started drawing but... it (call it: version no. 2) wasn't good... I still think that official version of this idea will never be greater from the first disegno.

Today, I decided to draw this idea on another sheet of paper (version no. 3) but I also wanted to make something anti-artistical. What I've done?

I took version no. 2 and I filled a picture by crayons. I made even a frottage thanks to one small coin. Next, I searched for newspaper to cut some accidental words for collage... Before I put pastels in very expressive way, I draw girl a moustache (it's strange but I was always doing this women magazines).

... When I come to the bathroom to wash my hands, I've got an another idea. I put my wet hands on my 'work of art'. 

It could sound strangely but it was an interesting way for relax :-)

Long time no see :-D

When I was wondering how should personification of summer look like? Well, I imagined that every personification should be special... In that case, autumn (in reverie) has got a straight, long brown hair and dress decorated by colorful leaves. Spring has got a long, curly red hair, freckles and a green dress with a floral pattern.

In this pastel, you could see my idea of personification of Autumn in fabulous dress decorated by colorful leaves (this idea you could also see THERE!).

A silent park in autumn with nice bridge... I was inspirated by one photograph in small book with aphorisms.

Long time no see :-)

Suddenly, I wanted to realise one small project which I doodled in one of my notebooks. This picture happened thanks to my fascination with Moai sculptures from Rapa Nui (which is known as the Easter Island).

'Galadriel' - the beginning of an adventure

I see a next long story on the horizon... I wanted to draw this well- known character from 'the Lord of the Rings'. Honestly, it's not the first time when I drew a Galadriel... I don't remember a first drawing but I remember a next ones. I decided to show 2 of them.

Well, you see... I had got a trouble with picturing a topic... I even drew a Galadriel with England from 'Hetalia' (there was a time, I was very interested in this anime and honestly, 'Hetalia' sometimes was for me a source of inspiration- in this case, I had got an idea of drawing a country's personifications from Hetalia with characters from a books connected with any country... I didn't finish this project and honestly, I don't want to finish it).
