walking towards an adventure

 HELLO!

Almost a year ago elapsed since I showed a new work from the series Wild Fantasy. In this series You will find the black-and-white pictures with colourful accent, made with pens. 

As usual the ideas for these pictures come from doodles showing ladies in fancy outfits with colourful accent. I draw them with animal companions, and sometimes with specific plants (this one depends on the chosen background). If You want to check out my previous works from Wild Fantasy, I'd like to recommend You a list called "My Series" which is one the right sidebar of this blog.

So, today I would like to tell You a story behind a new work, belonging to Wild Fantasy's series, with an orange accent.

Above there is one of the doodles showing a lady wearing an interesting outfit. The design may connote a folk costume. I wasn't having a particular folk costume in my mind when I was drawing it.

So, for some reason I imagined this lady walking through the foot log. In the background there would be a thick forest with a historic building towering over the trees. Oh, and beneath the foot log there would be a river in which otters swim, and a salamander is sitting on the rock.

Here are one of the doodles showing poses of lady walking through the foot log.

Above You may notice that I wrote "Najac, Aveyron - Francja" on the margin. As the main inspiration for the building towering over the trees in the background I chose the royal fortress of Najac (Aveyron department, France). Initially, I thought about the castles of Germany, then I also considered an island on Slovenian Lake Bled.

So, I started drawing my vision. Below You can see the first pencil drawing. 

Another two photos are showing the phases of drawing with pens.

As You may notice I implemented few changes, e.g. the wood anemones (Latin: Anemone nemorosa) on the right side of the picture.

And now's the time to show You the net result of my work.

I associate this picture with an adventurous spirit - with being ready to explore the new places and your own self. Orange is a colour which brings energy, and joy to my mind. And one needs lots of energy to embark on an adventure.
