a ghostly presence's stroll

 HELLO!

Do You happen to remember my post about a drawing dreaming in the meadow? I asked because once again a photo from a thin tiny book with variety of aphorisms (e.g. "Our main business is not to see what lies dimly at a distance, but to do what lies clearly at hand." by Thomas Carlyle) inspired me to create a work. To be precise - a pastel.

In the upper left corner there is a mentioned photo from this little book.

Lone tree among the lavender field - this scenery stimulates imagination.

In my drawing I decided to add a mysterious, gloomy silhouette walking through the field. The idea for this silhouette came from my small doodle (it is visible below). I got a vision of a person so sad that this person is unable to see the beauty of the surroundings. Everything around is vibrating with colours but deep sadness prevents spotting that.

Below there are photos showing stages of applying pastels (both dry and oil).

And now the net result of my work.

a ghostly presence's stroll, dry and oil pastels on a watercolour paper, 14,8 x 21 cm.

Additionally, I'd like to show a close-up of my pastel. It is visible below.

That's all.

Let me know what do You think about a ghostly presence's stroll.

Have a Nice Day! 💜
