Wakana once again

Hello!

Wakana, graphic.

Two years earlier I create a portrait of Wakana. Wakana Ōtaki was a member of japanese groups Kalafina and FictionJunction. Unfortunately Kalafina disbanded in 2018. Currently Wakana gets her solo career moving.
Why am I speaking about her?

4 in 4: the Autumn leaves

Hello!

Today I'm announcing a cycle which is connected with Seasons' personifications I've designed. Its title is "4 in 4". I shortened this name because I wanted to create a good logo for series. Actually a full title is "the Four Seasons in Four Frames"

Although winter is coming, I wanted to make this first strip about Autumn. I've decided to publish each and every comic strips from '4 in 4' during actual Season. So for one year you should expect four comic strips. Now's Autumn turn, so the next comic strip will be concerned with the Winter.

I wrote dialogue in bubbles in polish language but please don't worry. I made the translation in english which is available beneath the comic strip.

I hope you'll enjoy '4 in 4'. If you want you could wrote your suggestions about 4 Seasons in comments.

1st Frame:

Girl: Hello! What's up?
Boy: Oh, hey! Nothing but trouble, and also - those leaves make me sick!

2nd Frame:

Boy: What's so special about them, different colours, straight up? They fall and one should sweep them up, and if they're wet, it's impossible to walk on them...
Girl: Geez! You will always find a reason to complain...

a Geisha is coming in a sketch and graphics

Hello!

Japanese culture is one of my interests. Everything started with fascination of anime and manga in 2008. And my drawing style is hugely inspired by all those lines and forms I saw (and lost my heart for them). I'm still amazed by such masterpieces like Puella Magi Madoka Magica or Mononoke because of their experimentations with visuality.

Today I would like to show a geisha's studies made just yesterday. It's a sketch created in a blast of inspiration.

next aim - SO LONG! It's portrait of a man!

Hello!

Today I want to show a portrait of a man. This theme became one of my aims because of a major advantage of women pictures on my blog. Initially I couldn't decide who exactly should I portray. But one day - spontaneously - I choose Serj Tankian as a model for drawing.

Giewont

Hello!

In this post I would like to show a pastel which was made four or five years ago.

It was a gift for somebody important.

Giewont, pastel on paper.

Giewont (1895 m) is a mountain massif in the west part of Tatras. It's one of the most impressive mountains in mentioned mountain range because of its form resembling a profile of a sleeping man. There's even a legend about a sleeping knight morphed into rocks.

Pastel was inspired by one photography of one tourist book (which name I cannot recall).

finding beauty in process of withering

Hello!

the Beauty of Withering, graphic.

This graphic happened because of experimentation on one old photography of a withering rose. That day I've just had a gut feeling and found some beauty in that flower.
Nowadays I tried some effects from a graphic programme. I must say it looks good.

So, as I wrote this is the last graphic which was based on the Other World
Hope you'll enjoy this work... and also my tendency to wordplay.
I chose violet as a dominant colour for this graphic because of its mysterious beauty.

my first gif

Hello!

loneliness during the rainy weather, gif.

For some time I wanted to create a gif or just try to do it.
And I decided to use for this my drawings and graphics. In loneliness during the rainy weather I used a fragment of my previous work A Girl with Umbrella and graphics based on it (you could see few of them below the text).
I think it's amazing how gifs are able to tell story. It's also nice to see how your works literally come to life.

Have a Nice Day!

that Springtime Sadness

Hello!

the Coming of Spring doesn't make everyone happy..., pen on paper, 14,8 x 17,4 cm.

My latest drawing is showing a melting snowman during sunny weather. This happens after winter so you could also see Galanthus nivalis (quite simplified) on the left side of a picture. The title of drawing hasn't been chosen accidentally.
A year ago, at the beginning of Spring, I made a spontaneous doodle which was showing this specific theme. And during drawing I felt somehow... sad. I can't quite explain why I suddenly felt as sad as this snowman... Was it a reflection about a passing and inevitability? Or was it just a desire to express own feelings by a melting snowman?
Maybe you'll be the one who find an amazing interpretation of this riddle ☺️

the green mermaid

Hello!

the Green Mermaid, crayons on paper, 14,7 x 21 cm.

This time I kept up my work in shades of green. Mermaid is sitting on the rock. In the background there's a river and deep, coniferous forest. Hope you'll like such a monochromatic mermaid and her surroundings (although the idea of landscape came out of the blue).

So - it was another - monochromatic (!) - mermaid on my blog.
And probably - not last.

touched by the Sun

Hello!

the Other World: touched by the Sun, graphic

I hope you will appreciate another computer graphic from this little cycle based on work the Other World. This time I focused on yellow colour.

One of the reason was reference to splendid art of Gustav Klimt - actually I'm still under influence of beauty of the Tree of Life. Another cause were all those free associations with this colour. Obviously, I mean the Sun, sunflowers, grain and even feelings like happiness, joy, optimism, etc.

That's all.

through the Rainbow

Hello!

Today there is another graphic. It's not a secret that I love rainbow especially as a meteorological phenomenon. For me it's absolutely splendid, gorgeous and quite satisfying when the rainbow appears on a sky just after a storm. It's just like a trailer of a good event after terrible struggle and difficulties.

the Other World in blueness

Hello!

It has been a long time since I published there a computer graphic. Now's the time to left there something new. I mean a little cycle of graphics. All of them are based on drawing the Other World. Simply it's a continuation of mentioned work. Through experiments I wanted to see my drawing in a different ways...
Today I'll show only one of them. I hope you won't feel so blue after gazing at mysterious reader.

Come and see the Other World

Hello!

Long time no see :-) Lately there's so much work in my life I'm not able to find a time to publish new post. However today I want to show a drawing of a feminine reader.

The Other World, drawing on the cardboard.

Idea for this drawing started from a small doodle from my various notes. At the beginning it was only a young girl with a long green braid. She was wearing a long grey dress with black laces and cuffs.
So I decided to draw her on a separate work. Then I thought about her pose, activity and her surroundings.

a mermaid on a brown paper

Hello!

The first thing I must say is sorry. I apologize for my long absence and disability in organising my own life (hope that I find a solution for my problems).

Today I want to show a drawing of white-haired mermaid which is sitting on rocks. This sea creature seems pretty wild and also - thoughtful. I can't explain why I often draw people (mostly women) in the state of reverie or sadness. I think that's really intimate feeling, plus a message about inner struggles, longings, etc.

A Mermaid, pencil and a white crayon on a brown paper.

Oh, and one more thing. Lately I'm using a pencil and a white crayon on a brown paper. I really love the effect - it reminds me sketches of Renaissance artists I saw long time ago (I don't remember particular examples, sorry).

Have a Nice Day!
